Dunvegan Lodge is a peaceful self-catering retreat set high upon the fynbos-covered slopes of Clovelly mountain, overlooking the golf course, and a short way from the charming village of Kalk Bay and Fish Hoek which has one of the best swimming beaches in Cape Town. Dunvegan Lodge has direct access to the hiking trails and caves of the Silvermine Nature Reserve and is only a 12 minute walk from the beach.
The Lodge is centrally situated for visits to the Cape Town Waterfront, Stellenbosch Wine Route and Cape Point Nature Reserve and is a short drive from the famous jackass penguins at Boulders Beach. It is a 5 minute walk to the Clovelly Country Club which boasts one of the finest 18-hole golf courses in the peninsula.
Dunvegan Lodge offers accommodation in spacious sunny rooms, each with modern en-suite bathrooms, TV with satellite, telephone, hairdryer, safe and, for those chilly evenings, underfloor heating/air conditioner/heating and electric blankets. All linen, towels and white towelling gowns are provided, the rooms are serviced daily and a full laundry service is available. The entire property is also available to book as an exclusive self-catering Villa.

4.The Mountain Suite: sleeps 4 people ( 2 separate bedrooms)
All the above suites have a fully-fitted kitchenette (Bean to cup coffee machines,2 plate burner/mini oven,microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle in each) and a lounge with direct access to lovely wooden decks and landscaped gardens. Here one can laze around the solar-heated swimming pool and soak up the African sun, and then enjoy a relaxing evening barbeque and sundowners whilst watching the sun set into the distant Atlantic Ocean.
5.The Studio: sleeps 2 people
This room has a fully-fitted kitchenette with a breakfast counter and a lovely enclosed, covered patio.
We have a pool area with a solar-heated pool for guest use. Rooms are serviced daily (except on weekends and public holidays) and we offer a laundry service. All the above rooms are self-catering.
6. Exclusive use of full Villa (self catering facilities): Sleeps 16 people
An extra 2 bedrooms in the main house of the villa offer accommodation for another 4 people when rented out as The Villa. There is a fully equipped kitchen in the main house area with 4 plate gas stove top, electric oven, large 2 door fridge with water dispenser and ice machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, - gas BBQ, indoor braai and gorgeous outdoor patio.
The Villa has a lovely flow to outside, with a mountain gate opening straight up into the mountain for the avid walkers as well as a large solar-heated swimming pool.
We have free wireless internet access, which is operational during load shedding with a 50 up/50 down speed.
Off street parking is available for 5 cars.

Throughout the year: Rates for the separate one bedroomed units are from R935 to R1400 per night sleeping 2 people. Rates for the African Attic 2 bedroomed unit is from R1870 to R2500 per night for 4 people. Exclusive Villa: Entire 8 en-suite bedroomed Villa - Sleeps 16+. Minimum days do apply. We do prefer a minimum of 7 nights but enquire in case your booking can fit in between other enquiries. We do not rent the Exclusive villa out for 2 night weekends only, nor do we rent the Exclusive Villa as a venue for parties. Rates are determined by number of people, Season and duration of stay. March/September School holidays - R12000 a night. May to November from R8000 per day to R10000 for the Exclusive Villa for minimum 7 nights. Rates negotiate if shorter period. December Peak period - from 11 December 2023 to 13 January 2024 Rate for exclusive Villa over this period is from R10000 to R12000 per night for the exclusive Villa - rates negotiated depending on duration of your stay and number of people. We prefer a Minimum of 10 nights to 14 nights especially if taking the period which covers Christmas and New Year. |

- The property (you) must offer the 15% saving to all verified members
- Verification is done automatically at the time of an enquiry. It is at the property’s discretion whether to offer the saving for a telephonic enquiry. (As you have no means to verify the membership number, it is advisable to get them to do a formal enquiry so they can be verified).
- If the property is currently running a "Special" greater than 15% then the "Special" price will apply. (No further savings needs to be offered). EXCEPT in the case where the "Special" is lower than 15%. In that case the 15% will apply.
Example: A property offering a 10% discount, must offer an additional 5% discount to valid members - so they get a total 15% saving. - The property must offer valid members the saving all year round. (Properties that pick and chose in which seasons to participate run the risk of being removed from the programme completely. Allowing selective participation defeats the integrity of this initiative).
- The property must not inflate the price before the 15% is applied. Prices displayed should be the rack rate. (The official or advertised price of a room).
- The property must honour any bookings made while the property was participating as a $elect Stays property.
- The property must honour the agreement and the spirit in which the initiative is designed to benefit local tourism.
